Restylane

One of our fillers, Restylane takes takes 1 - 1 1/2 hours, depending on the treated site. It is a sugar molecule called hyaluronic acid. Your skin already possess this property. It is safe, looks natural and lasts 6-8 months. The areas of treatment are nasal labia, fuller lips, reshaping of the lips, vermillion lines (smoker lines), hollow cheeks and hollow eyes.

The patient is required to take Arnica Montana supplements a week before and a week after the treatment. This helps minimize bruising. Bruising only occurs in patients who are proned to bruising. Dr. Jennings will use a blocker for pain. Avoid any “ansaids”= blood thinners because they promote bleeding

What is Restylane?

Restylane is a recently FDA approved clear gel injectable filler used to add volume to the lips, fill up fine lines around the lips, and lift up wrinkle folds. It is made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance, which is a sugar molecule. This is the same substance already present in one’s own skin.

What can I expect after treatment?

Immediately after the treatment, you can expect slight redness, swelling, tenderness or an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. The discomfort is temporary and generally disappears in a few days. After a lip treatment, the lips may become swollen and somewhat uneven. This is normal and is temporary.

What should I bear in mind after a treatment with Restylane?

During the first 48 hours after your treatment, do not massage or rub the treated area. If you had a lip enhancement, avoid puckering your lips for the first two days afterwards.
